HSMWG - HUNGARIAN SEXUAL MEDICINE WORKING GROUP (HUNGARY)

The Hungarian Andrology Section was the third autonomous andrological society in Europe. The Hungarian Society of Urology, the Hungarian Andrology Section and the Hungarian Aging Male Society all delt with erectile dysfunction (ED). In the last decade, the Hungarian andrological network has been vigorously active in the field of ED. Getting acquainted with the pan-European role of the ESSM, we decided to establish a national ED group. The Hungarian Sexual Medicine Working Group affiliated to the ESSM was established in 2003.
The Hungarian Sexual medicine Working Group makes contact with similar Eastern and Central European organisations and was admitted as a Member of ESSM in 2003. The number of the new members in the Group is continually increasing. The Group also publishes the journal Hungarian Andrology. Our working group has a good contact with the pharma companies so the contribution is ongoing with them. One of the newest activity of the society is the study of the hungarian sexual flavour and the incidence of sexual disturbances due to Internet questionnaires. Since 2003 the working group organised postgraduate courses (more than 150 participants in 2005) for andrologists and urologists in the field of the sexual medicine.
