Swiss Society of Sexology

The goal of the SSS is to promote sexology as an independent discipline in the medical field, and not as an auxiliary activity, in order to guarantee optimal treatment and care for the general population.

The SSS was founded as a national organisation in order to best co-ordinate its activities throughout Switzerland. Crucial aspects of our work include the standardisation of the care and training being offered and ensuring that the public has access to clear, high quality information. The Executive Committee is made up of doctors representing various specialisations and various linguistic areas. They will direct a dynamic and flexible, commission based organisation which will set up the various projects of the society.
Finally, we will cater to all people with an interest in medical sexology through courses, publications and seminars open to a wider audience. Our information and our clinical recommendations will be evidence-based and easily accessible.

As the only society of medical sexology with a scientific and university level status, the SSS immediately collaborated with the FMH ( Federatio Medicorum Helveticorum) to gain recognition for our discipline. A number of leading academic figures and professors support us.. A multidisciplinary approach is fundamental to the SSS, reflecting our clinical practice in sexology.
