As medicines for sexual dysfunction (especially for erectile dysfunction) represent one of the most important segments of the “fake medicine trade” it is European Sexual Health Alliance's wish to raise public awareness of the issues surrounding counterfeit medicines.
The session in Milan included the following:
The session will explore the communication difficulties between the PE patient and the physician as well as the difficulties of communication between the patient and his partner. This will be done through role-playing sessions and all ESSM members will be invited to attend.
ESHA participates in the PE Confidential Survey press conference “Men Slow to Talk About Fast Sex”
The European Sexual Health Alliance is well aware of the fact that many women suffer silently as a result of undiagnosed sexual dysfunction in the same way that men do. We know this because of the calls we receive from women in our helplines in different European countries. We also know that the media have been sceptic with regard to FSD and some have expressed the opinion that modern society “invents” non-life threatening ailments in order to create new markets for drugs where they might otherwise not be needed.
ESHA is an umbrella group of thirteen patient support helpline’s throughout Europe that has been going strong for more than six years. The time has come to take stock of our achievements and look ahead. With this in mind the ESHA members gathered recently in Copenhagen for the AGM where a number of important changes were approved to give the organization a firm footing for the future.
The European Sexual Dysfunction Alliance (ESDA) was the focus of the Patients First Lilly ICOS program at the ESSM congress in Copenhagen in December 2005. The theme “Patients First” encouraged visitors to the stand to learn more about the work of ESDA and its affiliates throughout Europe. We are delighted to have taken part in this excellent initiative for the benefit of patients.
Once again the European Federation of Neurological Associations (EFNA) offered ESHA a complimentary booth at their annual European Federation of Neurological Societies congress in Glasgow. This is the third time that ESHA has been present at the EFNS annual meetings; our first participation was in Paris in 2004 followed by Athens in 2005 and this year in Glasgow.
